The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the redeployment of two senior officers to Imo and Plateau states.
According to a police wireless message issued by the office of the Force Secretary and obtained by SaharaReporters, CP Audu Garba Bosso has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for Imo State, while CP Bassey Samuel Ewah will now lead the Plateau State Police Command.
The communication, dated February 3, 2026, was addressed to senior police officials, including Deputy Inspectors-General, Assistant Inspectors-General, state Commissioners of Police, and heads of specialized units such as Interpol, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Mobile Police Force, Border Patrol, Maritime Police, Air Wing, and Bomb Disposal Unit, as well as other operational and administrative formations nationwide.
The redeployments take effect immediately.
