Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has said that his policies will be formulated around community development.

He said this during an interactive session with members of the Neighbourhood Watch and Community Development Committees in the state on Thursday. He said, “The policy thrust of my administration would be community development.”

Ambode who was represented by his Deputy Mrs. Oluranti Adebule, at the interactive session held at the Lagos House, Ikeja, said his administration would give the government back to the communities.

He said, “Let me assure you that, going forward, you will be playing more significant and critical role in this administration. The present administration is giving back government to the communities; the policy thrust of this administration.

“We know that if we develop the community, we have developed the local government; that means we are equally developing the state. But we will not start from up, we will start from the bottom so that we will go up like that.”

The governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensuring the provision of 20 new rural roads in each of the Local Government Areas in the state.

Speaking earlier, the Coordinator of the Neighbourhood Watch, Mr. Akeem Sanni, commended the state government in the area of provision of equipment for his men but added that the neighbourhood watch would in short time  communicate to the governor on its needs.
