Handshake across the Niger: Unity between Igbo and Yoruba long overdue- Falaye

Former president candidate, Chief Olu Falaye has praised the idea of unity between the Igbo and the Yoruba ethnic groups, noting that it was long overdue.

Falaye who was speaking in Enugu, Thursday at a historic event meant to foster unity between the two ethnic groups, noted that unity between the Igbo and Yoruba couldn’t have come at a better time than now when, according to him, Nigeria has become very sick.

The event which featured prominent Yoruba and Igbo sons, including the President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr Nnia Nwodo; his Afenifere counterpart, Pa Reuben Fasoranti; Pa Ayo Adebanjo; Yinka Odumakin; Prof Pat Utomi and a host of others as well as eminent sons of the South South and Middle Belt, including former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, was organized by Nzuko Umunna, an Igbo think tank group in honour of Gen Aguiyi Ironsi and Adekule Fajuyi.
