Guinness World Record star, others to headline Lagos Reading Conference billed for September 27-28
Mr John Obot, Nigeria’s latest Guinness World Record marathon bid hero, the read-aloud star, is among guests billed to headline the two-day National Conference on Reading and AGM of the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters in Nigeria, NBRP.
Obot, who this month read over 200 hours in all in his bid to clinch the diadem in the Longest Read-Aloud Session by an individual, which took place at the Watbridge Hotel, Uyo, would be joining other guests in interrogating the theme of the event: The Science of Reading and Early Literacy Development: The Role of Parents, Educators, Libraries and Book Clubs.’
The keynote address at the session would be delivered by Dr Paige Pullen, Chief Academic Officer at the Lastinger Center, University of Florida.
National Librarian, Prof Chinwe Anunobi is billed to chair the event while the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Education; Dr Ekong Sampson; Chairman Nigerian Book Fair Trust, Mr Dare Oluwatuyi; MD, Accessible Publishers, Mr Adedapo Gbadega; President, Nigerian Publishers Association, Dr Uchenna Cyril Anioke; Founder, Uyo Book Club, Dr Udeme Nana and Founder, Raffia City Book Club, Ikot Ekpene, Abom Tony Esu, would be honoured with the Champions of Reading Award.
The event takes place at the Julius Berger Hall, University of Lagos.
