A political group known as Change-Abia Organisation led by a former governorship candidate in Abia State, Ochiagha Regan Ufomba, has endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office, citing his sterling performance since assuming office in 2023.
After a crucial meeting of the Leadership, Executive Members, Local Government Area Co-ordinators of the Organisation, as well as Leaders of 197 Affiliate Groups, at his Heaven is Real home, Umuogele Ntigha on Wednesday, the group said the endorsement followed Governor Otti’s outstanding record of achievements in his first 35 months in office.
The change Abia Group comprising the Association of village heads in Abia State as well as 197 affiliate groups, emphasised that Otti’s performance in office stands him out as the best.
It insisted that having weighed other individuals nursing the ambition of vying for the position, governor Alex Otti stands shoulder high above them.
They emphasised that they would work for Otti’s re-election in 2027 irrespective of party affiliation as he rightly deserves a second term in office to continue his good works in Abia State.
Highlighting the need for all to rally around the Governor in the election, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba recalled various testimonies from people who are not indigenes of Abia State in far away places extolling the sterling performances of Governor Otti in all sectors.
They include: road construction, transportation, urban renewal, as well as uplifting the people’s welfare among others.
Ochiagha Reagan stated that governor Otti truly deserved re-election, saying he is miles apart from his contemporaries aspiring for the position in 2027. He emphasised that Otti has shown competence, transparency, prudence and managing the resources of Abia.
Ufomba who described Governor Otti as a financial engineer, said his prudent management of the resources of the state, is also another reason why Abians must ensure that he returns in 2027, stressing that it will be a disservice if Abians make the mistake of electing a wrong candidate.
He stressed that Change Abia is a strong and viable organisation spread across Abia state and has played notable roles in the emergence of every government in the state since the beginning of civilian governance in 1999.
Correspondent reports that the endorsement of Governor Alex Otti at the meeting, followed a motion moved by Chief Mrs. Christiana Duruohia, seconded by His Eminence, Ezeji Ambassador Ngozi Ụkaegbu.
