The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved a major redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force in a move aimed at strengthening operations and improving service delivery nationwide.
The changes, which affect several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs), were announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid.
According to the statement, the redeployment forms part of efforts to reinforce the Force’s command structure and ensure strategic placement of personnel across various commands, formations and departments.
Among the new postings, AIG Ado Emmanuel has been deployed to the Department of Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo has been assigned to the Department of Armament.
AIG Miller Dantawaye was posted to the Department of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development. AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo was deployed to the Police Affairs Branch, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed will oversee Zone 15 in Maiduguri.
Similarly, AIG Dankombo F. Morris was posted to Zone 4, Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina. AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba will head Legal Services, AIG Ahmed Musa will oversee Community Policing, while AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh was deployed to Zone 2, Lagos.
AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom has been assigned to the FCID Annex in Lagos, while AIG Haruna Olufemi will serve at the Special Protection Unit at the Force Headquarters.
At the level of Commissioners of Police, CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya was posted to head the Jigawa State Command, while CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola will take charge in Oyo State. CP Olubode Ojajuni was deployed to Ogun State, and CP Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti State Command.
CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro was posted to Adamawa State Command, while CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed will lead the Federal Capital Territory Command. CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai was deployed to Lagos State Command.
Other state command postings include CP Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba, CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.
In other strategic appointments, CP Akan Ezima was named Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja, while CP Abbas Sule was deployed to the Special Protection Unit. CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue was posted to INTERPOL, Abuja.
CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus was appointed Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy (POLAC), while CP Danjuma I. Yahaya and CP Sheik M. Danko were posted
