FG, states, LGs pocket N1.969trn from December FAAC allocation

Federation receives 100% of PSC profit oil as FAAC distributes ₦1.894 trillion for February

The Federal Government, 36 states and the 774 local government councils shared a total of N1.969 trillion as Federation Account revenue for December 2025.

This was contained in a communique issued after the January meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), and made available on Monday by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr Bawa Mokwa.

According to the communique, the distributable revenue comprised N1.084 trillion from statutory sources, N846.507 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N38.110 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

The statement further revealed that a total gross revenue of N2.585 trillion accrued to the Federation Account in December.

“Total deduction for cost of collection was N104.697 billion, while total transfers, refunds and savings amounted to N511.585 billion,” the communique stated.

FAAC also disclosed that gross statutory revenue of N1.631 trillion was recorded for December, representing a drop of N105.202 billion compared to the N1.736 trillion generated in November 2025.

However, VAT collections surged during the month, with N913.957 billion realised, an increase of N350.915 billion over the N563.042 billion recorded in November.

From the N1.969 trillion distributable revenue, the Federal Government received N653.500 billion, states received N706.469 billion, while local government councils got N513.272 billion. Additionally, N96.083 billion, representing 13 per cent derivation revenue, was shared among oil-producing states.

A breakdown of the N1.084 trillion statutory revenue showed that the Federal Government got N520.807 billion, states received N264.160 billion, while local governments received N203.656 billion. The derivation allocation remained N96.083 billion.

From the N846.507 billion VAT pool, the Federal Government received N126.976 billion, states got N423.254 billion, and local governments received N296.277 billion.

Similarly, from the N38.110 billion EMTL revenue, the Federal Government received N5.717 billion, states received N19.055 billion, while local governments got N13.338 billion.

The communique noted that Companies Income Tax, Import Duty and VAT recorded significant increases in December. Oil and Gas Royalty as well as CET levies and fees rose marginally, while Excise Duty, Petroleum Profit Tax and EMTL witnessed notable declines.
