FCMB Group Plc has announced the appointment of Adepeju Adebajo as an Independent Non-Executive Director. The appointment follows formal approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Adepeju Adebajo, a seasoned executive with over three years of experience, she joins the Board at a pivotal time as the diversified financial services group seeks to expand its footprint in the Nigerian market.
Her career run through renewable energy, agriculture, finance, and consulting, making her one of the most versatile leaders in the Sub-Saharan African corporate space.
The Board of Directors welcomed the new appointee, noting that her arrival aligns with the Group’s long-term vision.
“Her wealth of experience in business transformation, strategy development, operational excellence, and ESG implementation will strengthen FCMB Group’s leadership and support its continued growth,” the statement read.
Adebajo’s professional pedigree is underpinned by an impressive academic background, including degrees from Harvard Business School and Imperial College London. She has previously held chief executive roles at Lafarge Africa (Cement), Lumos Nigeria, and Mouka Limited, while also serving as the Commissioner for Agriculture in Ogun State.
The Group emphasized that the appointment is a deliberate step toward modernizing the company’s leadership outlook.
“This appointment reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a robust governance framework and building a leadership team that supports innovation, inclusive, and responsible practices,” the statement added.
