Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia  of the Federal High Court has rescheduled for July 1 the judgement in a money laundering case against the former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode.

The court had fixed Thursday, for the judgment but the absence of the lawyer, Festus Keyamo who prosecuted Fani-Kayode for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, compelled the judge to adjourn the matter.

When the matter came on Thursday, a lawyer from the legal office of Festus Keyamo, Festus Afiodion informed the court of inability of Keyamo,  to be present.

He told the court that Keyamo was in another courtroom to prosecute another criminal matter.
.

Defence counsel, Ifedayo Adedipe, SAN, confirmed Afiodion’s statement as he told the court that Keyamo called to inform him that he would be absent in court as he had another matter to handle.

But he urged the court to go ahead with the delivery of the judgement.

Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia,  ruled against Adedipe maintaining that the judgement would not be delivered in the absence of Keyamo.

However, the presiding judge did not give any reasons for that decision.
