The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15, 2026 election in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated Muslims in the state on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Oyebamiji assured residents of an inclusive, participatory and people-oriented administration if elected, urging them to remain hopeful for what he described as “good governance that will be the pride of all.”
In his Eid-el-Fitr message personally signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo, the APC candidate called for renewed commitment to faith and adherence to the lessons of Ramadan, while also urging prayers for peaceful elections in the state.
He commended the Muslim Ummah for successfully completing the holy month of Ramadan and encouraged them to sustain the virtues of love, unity, peace and good neighbourliness as taught in the Holy Qur’an and exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr in our dear state and across the world, I rejoice with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the successful completion of Ramadan,” he said.
“Our collective spiritual devotion, generosity and sacrifice during the holy month reflect our shared commitment to building a better society anchored on peace, unity and progress.”
Oyebamiji also used the occasion to call for peaceful conduct before, during and after the forthcoming governorship election, stressing the need for citizens to prioritise unity and cohesion.
“As we approach the election year, let us use this period to pray fervently for peaceful polls in Osun State and across the country. It is a time for sacrifice, selflessness and commitment to the common good,” he added.
He further expressed appreciation to residents for their continued support, pledging to raise the standard of governance in the state if given the mandate.
The APC candidate prayed for continued peace and prosperity, wishing Muslims a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration and many more years of good health and fulfilment.
