The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on Wednesday quizzed a former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff over allegation of financial misappropriation.
This was coming barely two days after the former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako was grilled by the commission.
According to a source Modu-Sheriff was being questioned over N300bn his administration received from the Federation Account between 2003 and 2011 when he was the governor of Borno State.
Conforming this to Hallmark News the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said that the former governor was at the EFCC on Wednesday for questioning.
Uwujaren, who disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja, said that the agency had summoned Modu Sheriff to appear before it on Thursday, April 23, at 10am for questioning but the former governor had failed to honour the invitation.
