The Delta State Government has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Mr. Sunny Kotor, Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, who reportedly slumped and died on Friday.

Kotor, a familiar figure at official functions across the state where he served as Master of Ceremony, was known for his poise and professionalism in coordinating high-level engagements.

In a statement released on Saturday in Warri, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, described his passing as a painful loss to both the government and the wider Delta community.

According to the statement, Kotor’s contributions to state functions were marked by excellence and attention to detail, qualities that set him apart in his role.

“He brought dignity, structure, and excellence to every function he handled,” Osuoza said, noting that his absence would be deeply felt.

The commissioner added that Kotor’s sudden demise serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of life, extending condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

“Every passing is indeed a sobering reminder of how fragile and fleeting life can be,” he stated, praying for strength and comfort for those grieving.

Kotor’s death leaves a significant gap within the state’s protocol structure, where he was regarded as a dedicated and dependable official.
