Dangote Cement Plc has rewarded its top distributors and customers with gifts and cash valued at ₦15 billion, in recognition of their loyalty and performance, while unveiling plans to expand cement production capacity to about 90 million tonnes by 2030.

The rewards were presented at the 2026 Distributors’ Awards Night held at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, under the theme Partner for Growth. Beneficiaries received cash prizes, containers of cement, luxury SUVs and CNG-powered trucks.

President and chief executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, described the distributors as the backbone of the company, praising their role in ensuring Dangote products reach communities across Nigeria.

“Your tireless work, commitment to our products and direct engagement with customers are what translate our vision into results. This celebration shows that our growth journey for 2026 has already begun,” Dangote said.

He used the occasion to restate the group’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to transform Dangote Group into a $100 billion enterprise through industrial expansion, cross-border investments and strengthening Africa’s self-sufficiency in key sectors.

Dangote disclosed that Dangote Cement is targeting a production capacity of approximately 90 million tonnes by 2030, noting that the ambition goes beyond factory expansion to building Africa’s industrial capacity.

“An output of 90 million tonnes by 2030 means we are about 50 per cent above the entire cement production of Saudi Arabia,” he said.

He also highlighted ongoing expansion plans across the group, including scaling the Dangote refinery from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million bpd, expanding fertiliser production to 12 million metric tonnes annually, and increasing output at the polypropylene plant.

As part of the broader Africa First agenda, Dangote recalled the launch of a ₦1 trillion ($600 million) education fund by the Aliko Dangote Foundation in December 2025, aimed at supporting more than 1.3 million vulnerable Nigerian students, with focus on scholarships, STEM, technical and vocational education, and girls’ education.

Chairman of Dangote Cement Plc, Emmanuel Ikazoboh, said strong distributor partnerships remained central to the company’s nationwide reach.

“Tonight, we are giving out about ₦9 billion in cash. For some distributors, it will be a double celebration, with rewards for both volume and growth performance,” Ikazoboh said.

He added that beyond cash prizes, recipients were also rewarded with CNG-powered trucks and high-end vehicles to support logistics efficiency and profitability.

Ikazoboh disclosed that Dangote Cement has invested heavily in CNG-powered trucks, with a target of converting its entire fleet to CNG by the end of 2027, in line with sustainability goals.

He also announced plans for a greenfield, two-line cement plant with a capacity of six million metric tonnes per annum in Itori, Ogun State, dedicated to exports, as well as expansions at the company’s grinding plant in Côte d’Ivoire.

Commending the distributors, Ikazoboh said their loyalty and resilience were critical to the company’s success.

“Your perseverance and trust help us maintain visibility and availability nationwide. We are committed to seeing your businesses grow bigger, stronger and more profitable,” he said.
