The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh increase in petrol prices, ending its temporary price-support intervention that was introduced during the 2025 festive season.
In a statement issued on Monday, January 26, 2026, the refinery confirmed that the ex-gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) has been raised to ₦799 per litre from ₦699. Consequently, retail prices at all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc stations nationwide have been adjusted to ₦839 per litre.
The ₦100 increase follows a period during which the refinery absorbed additional costs to provide relief to consumers during the high-spending December holiday season. The refinery said the realignment is necessary to ensure long-term market stability and the sustainability of domestic refining operations.
Ahead of the 2025 Christmas celebration, Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote announced a petrol price cut to ₦739 per litre nationwide, initially implemented at MRS stations in Lagos.
However, the refinery stated that with the festive period over, “PMS prices have been modestly realigned to sustainable levels to support long-term market stability and affordability.”
“Under the current alignment, the PMS gantry price is ₦799 per litre, while MRS retail outlets are selling at ₦839 per litre,” the statement said, confirming the increase from the earlier pump price of ₦739 per litre.
The refinery also reiterated its commitment to maintaining market stability and ensuring uninterrupted nationwide supply of petrol.
