CILGPA inducts Babcock University VC as fellow

Prof. Afolarin Ojewole receives the CILGPA fellow's certificate from Dr. Uche Okereke, representing the President of the Institute's Council.

Babcock University President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration (CILGPA) in recognition of his contributions to strengthening public administration in Nigeria.

The induction ceremony took place at the President’s Boardroom on the university’s main campus in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.

Speaking after his induction,  Ojewole pledged to serve as “a vanguard and voice of the institute around the world,” while reaffirming his commitment to advancing professional standards in public administration.

He also disclosed plans to work with CILGPA on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that would enable students of Public Administration at Babcock University to earn a professional certificate alongside their academic degree.

“We want our Public Administration graduates to leave the university not with only a degree, but also with a professional certificate, so they can enter the labour market with added value,” he said.

Representing the President of CILGPA’s Governing Council, Professor A. M. Awotokun, Dr Uche Okereke formally welcomed Professor Ojewole into the institute, expressing hope that CILGPA would continue to produce competent professionals to serve the country in various capacities.

Dr Okereke also affirmed the institute’s readiness to enter into an MoU with Babcock University, noting that such a partnership would be of great benefit to students.
