BREAKING: Ogundipe removed as UNILAG Vice Chancellor

In what can be seen as the climax of a protracted crisis at the University of Lagos, the governing council of the institution has removed Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as the vice-chancellor of the school.

The former vice Chancellor was removed at the council’s meeting held at the headquarters of the National Universities Commission, Abuja on Wednesday.

Said to be in attendance were at least 11 council members, the VC included, majority of whom voted for the removal of Mr Ogundipe.

Mr Ogundipe was accused of financial impropriety and gross misconduct.
