Breaking news : Thugs thwart protest against Aregbesola

Peaceful protest organised to support Justice Folahanmi Oloyede, a serving Osun State High Court Judge was thwarted on Tuesday morning by scores of hoodlums.

Oloyede had petitioned the state house of assembly to investigate governor Rauf Aregbesola for alleged mismanagement of the state resources, a call that did not go well with the governor.

In his reaction, Aregbesola had threatened to sack the judge  but on Tuesday a protest march organised by a group of Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun rose up to rally support for Justice Folahanmi Oloyede.

The march which began at Ayetoro junction few minutes past 9 am witnessed a hitch when some people pelted the protesters with sachet water but the situation was later brought under control.

The protesters, led by leaders of CSCEO were joined by members of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, in the march that was to terminate at the gate of the state House of Assembly.

Anti riot policemen were brought in to put the situation under control.
