The African Democratic Congress has announced the timetable for its nationwide congresses, with the process set to culminate in the party’s national convention on April 14, 2026.

The timetable was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the exercise will begin with polling unit and ward congresses scheduled for April 7 across the country.

Local government congresses will follow on April 9, while state congresses are slated for April 11.

The party said the series of congresses would pave the way for its national convention fixed for April 14.

It explained that the exercise is aimed at renewing the party’s leadership structures in line with its constitutional provisions.

“This process forms part of the party’s constitutional responsibility to renew its leadership structures across all levels of the organisation, culminating in the national convention,” the statement noted.

The party advised members interested in contesting vacant positions to obtain and submit nomination or expression of interest forms through its official website.

It also urged members nationwide to actively participate in the congresses and ensure that the process is conducted in line with the party’s constitution, guidelines and democratic values.
