Chairmen of the Accord Party from across the country have unanimously endorsed Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, for a second term in office, citing what they described as his impressive performance and commitment to good governance.
The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued after a meeting of the party’s state chairmen held in Osogbo on Tuesday.
In a statement signed by the Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party, Pastor Victor Akande, the party leaders described Adeleke as a unifying figure whose administration has enhanced public confidence in the party nationwide.
According to the communiqué, the forum resolved to mobilise Accord members and Osun indigenes across the country to ensure the governor’s re-election, adding that a nationwide coordination platform had already been established to drive the campaign.
The leaders also dismissed as false reports circulating on social media alleging that the party had endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun.
They reaffirmed that Governor Adeleke remained the party’s preferred candidate and urged him to remain in the Accord Party after securing a second term in office.
The forum also appealed to the governor to intervene in the lingering issues affecting the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), while calling for greater support for the Osun chapter to consolidate the party’s growing political influence in the state.
It further requested enhanced institutional support for the Osun State chairman to strengthen party coordination ahead of the governorship election.
The party leaders expressed confidence that Adeleke’s continued membership of the Accord would foster unity, strengthen the party’s structure and boost its national profile ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The communiqué was jointly signed by the Chairman of Chairmen, Alhaji Iliyas Badanga; Deacon Fred Obi (South-South); Nze Edwin Ikechukwu (South-East); Hamman Mohammed (North-East); Oladele Oladeji (South-West); and Isah Adamu Bello (North-West), reflecting what the party described as nationwide support for the resolutions.
Also present at the meeting were members of the party’s National Executive Committee, including the National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, who described Governor Adeleke as “an agent of positive change.”
“We are proud of Mr Governor, going by his accomplishments and popularity among the people of Osun State.
“Governor Adeleke is the candidate of Accord in whom we are all pleased,” Mgbudem said.
The forum reaffirmed its commitment to party unity, discipline and growth, expressing confidence that the Accord would emerge stronger and achieve greater electoral success under Adeleke’s leadership.
